Avery's First Birthday Monster Bash
So because I have a One Year Old, I have only been able to through one child's party so far. But I think it went down really well and was so fun to put together!
Decorations:
Entrance to the Party was epic with a Monster House Theme. This took us about 4 hours and two trips to Walmart to try and figure it out. So Here is how we did it, so that you can do it a lot quicker and with only one trip to Wally-World.
Materials:
4 Foam Poster Boards
Permanent Markers
Pencil to free hand the shape of the teeth
8 Command Hooks
Instructions:
We began by free handing the shape of the teeth and then cutting it out with a razor, Exacto Knife, and scissors. It took us a while cause we were kind of winging it.
We then went over both edges with a permanent marker and then pasted it up on the wood portion of the patio.
My dad then used his perfection skills to make the eyeball a perfect circle, by making is own super large compass out of cardboard. We then used a huge ladder to reach up to the top perfect window for an eyeball, and used two command hooks to hold it up.
The nice thing about the monster house is that it weathered about two thunderstorms and still stayed up.
There were also Monsters Everywhere, Balloons, and Streamers.
Food/Desserts:
Dinner: My Step Mom, Annie, made probably my favorite meal of all time, Chicken Tikka Masala. As soon as she writes this recipe down I will post it here on the blog!
Cake & Ice Cream: Included Cupcakes, a Monster Cake and Eyeball Cake Pops.
We used store bought cake mixes and made our own generic buttercream frosting. The Cake Pops were decorated with colored white chocolate that was super yummy! As soon as I get instructions how my Grandmother-In-Law, Grams/Marilyn did it I will post the Cakepops on here as well.
